Business Sectors

As well as showcasing the work I have completed I would also like to show you the sectors I have worked in, the companies I have worked for and the skills and knowledge I have in each area.

I gained a distinction at City College Plymouth and gained an NVQ in retail and distribution management, giving me a sound basis for a career in business and retail.

I started my journey in business development with Westcountry Publications where I gained a promotion and won three awards for my work. I moved on to Warburtons Ltd and was part of a small Newton Abbot based team that set up, rolled out and established the company in the South West, the final piece to the puzzle of making the brand national. Before I went to university to gain my bachelors degree, I also worked for GlaxoSmithKline developing the consumer healthcare sector for the pharmaceutical giant.

Achieving my bachelors degree with honours at Plymouth University launched me into a new and exciting career but ensured my business development career and experience in business was still at the centre of everything I do. My love for building websites and computing for business introduced me to a whole new world. I completed an industrial placement year with The Peninsula College of Medicine and Dentistry’s Web, Database and Marketing Team, building websites for research fellows and academics, conducting email marketing campaigns, producing PR and marketing materials for print. Along with a growing set of freelance projects I was thriving and loving my new career.

I have been working for Liskeard School & Community College for six years now. Having built the website I now maintain it, produce PR and marketing materials for print, set up and manage the social media, conduct email marketing campaigns, produce photos and content for public relations articles for the local press, produce logos and branding and ensure communications channels, email, text, social, digital signage, website, press are all used to their full potential.
